Soft <c> Spelling Pattern

In this spelling lesson, your students will learn that <c> is pronounced /s/ when followed by an <e>, <i> or <y>, work with the suffixing conventions replace <e> with a vowel suffix and replace <y> with <i>, examine the spelling behind the word muscle, and enhance their comprehension of several affixes, including <de->, <bi->, <sur->, <-able>, <-est>, and <-ly>.
