Stress and Schwa (reduced vowels) Spelling Convention

In this spelling lesson, your students will learn that English has a rhythm, like beats in music. Some syllables are said slower to keep the rhythm, while the others are said quickly. Students will explore compound words, examine the spelling behind the word Saturday, and enhance their comprehension of several affixes, including <re->, <dis->, <de->, <con/com->, <per->, <-ion>, <-ive>, <-ful>, and <-ure>.
