<a> as /ɔ/ Spelling Pattern

In this spelling lesson, your students will discover that <a>, when before an <l> is usually pronounced/ↄ/ even when the <l> is not pronounced, explore compound words, work with the suffixing conventions change “y” to “i” and replace <e> with a vowel suffix, examine the words one, once, only, and alone, and enhance their comprehension of several affixes, including <re->, <-s>, <-ed>, <-ing>, <-est>, <-y>, and <-er>.
